Terms of Service

Last updated: May 8, 2026

Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Jaelyn Song, an individual operating Blocksyc in the United States ("Blocksyc," "we," or "us"). By creating an account or using Blocksyc, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Blocksyc.

The service

Blocksyc routes prompts through a system layer designed to reduce sycophantic behavior in AI responses, scores those responses against a sycophancy rubric, and surfaces both the filtered and unfiltered results to you. The service is provided through a web interface and depends on third-party AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, and others we may add). We may add, remove, or change features at any time.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Blocksyc. If you're using Blocksyc on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for any activity that happens under your account. Notify us right away at contact@blocksyc.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Blocksyc to:

  • Generate, store, or distribute illegal content, content that infringes someone else's rights, or content that promotes self-harm or violence.
  • Generate content involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate others.
  • Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, or any technical controls; share your account; or create multiple accounts to evade restrictions.
  • Use Blocksyc's outputs to train, fine-tune, or evaluate a model that competes with Blocksyc.
  • Scrape, crawl, or mass-extract content or metadata from the service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Blocksyc, except to the extent that applicable law forbids restricting this.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network connected to Blocksyc, or breach any security or authentication measures.
  • Violate the acceptable-use policy of any AI model provider we route requests through.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

Your content and feedback

You retain all rights to the prompts you send and the responses you receive. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and process this content solely as needed to operate the service for you (including by sending it to the model provider you've chosen).

If you turn on the "Help improve Blocksyc" setting, the specific exchanges you actively rate may be used by us to evaluate and improve our system layer and rubric. You can turn this setting off at any time. We don't use ratings you don't actively submit, and we never use your conversations to train AI models we sell or distribute.

If you send us suggestions, feedback, or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them without compensation or attribution to you.

Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Blocksyc offers subscription plans (billed monthly) and one-time credit packs. Pricing is shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Stripe processes all payments.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your Stripe customer portal (accessible from your in-app Settings) or by deleting your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless you delete your account, in which case it takes effect immediately.

All purchases are final. We don't provide refunds for unused subscription time or for one-time credit packs once credits have been added to your account, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, email contact@blocksyc.com and we'll review the case.

We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. New pricing applies to the next billing cycle after notice.

AI outputs and disclaimer

AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or otherwise wrong. They're produced by statistical models that don't verify facts, and Blocksyc's sycophancy- reduction layer reduces but does not eliminate problems inherent to language models.

Don't rely on Blocksyc for professional advice. Outputs are not legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other professional advice. For decisions that have meaningful consequences, consult a qualified human professional. You are solely responsible for any actions you take based on Blocksyc's output.

Termination

You can stop using Blocksyc at any time by deleting your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if continued operation poses a legal or security risk, or if we discontinue the service. We'll give you reasonable notice before termination unless doing so would risk further violation or harm.

On termination, your access to Blocksyc ends, and your account data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will continue to apply.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Blocksyc is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We don't guarantee that the service will be error-free, secure, or free from harmful code, or that the outputs will meet your needs.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00). We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount allowed by the applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of Blocksyc, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Blocksyc that isn't resolved by mutual agreement will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the United States.

Class action waiver. You and Blocksyc each agree to bring claims against the other only in your or our individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative action.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes, we'll notify you by email or through an in-app notice before they take effect. Continued use of Blocksyc after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
